We live in a relatively small beach town. It feels even more so when you consider that we both live and work within a one mile radius. So, we were super excited to see a new restaurant under construction. Even more excited to find out that their specialty is Asian comfort food. I don’t really know what that means, but I can tell you after two visits, it sure tastes good. The food is fresh and innovative. A combination of several Asian influences…some Indian, some Chinese, and more.
For those of you familiar with Encinitas, the East Village Asian Diner opened up in Flashback’s former location. Right on Coast Hwy just south of E Street. It’s not a big restaurant but the decor is casual and a bit deconstructed. An Asian restaurant without Asian decor.
All-in-all, it looks to be a nice addition to the neighborhood.

East Village Asian Diner is delicious and does not break your pocket book! I love the fact that the atmosphere is casual and they offer fabulous beers on tap! A welcome addition to Encinitas! You must try it!
